Finally. Despite edition

70 years of one (nothing) good neighborhood. | Novoclarim.com.br
Donald and Silva are completing 70 years of ass kicking and confusion among neighbors and to celebrate, cartell Editora Abril decided to launch cartell a "special" edition bringing together 4 previously unreleased stories cartell of double bullies.
I may be wrong (which is common to happen, by the way) but when I think about this situation, I can not remember the other characters cartell who illustrate this well as well as Donald and Silva. Okay so there are some horrible to have neighbor like Woody Woodpecker and Bugs Bunny and Donald characters but Silva has staged several epic fights to the point of nearly put the city below (the houses of the two live literally going to the ground) And " legal "is that you can not tell who is right as both are keen to cause another without reason.
Silva was established in 1943 by Master Carl Barks story only as an adjunct to Donald and his "good" neighbor (Interestingly, cartell despite being the origin story of the character, the script says they were both neighbors some time ago). Later, Barks would reveal that he did not like using it much because I thought the jokes that could come from neighbors fight very limited. So much that he used it in a few stories. It was at the hands of other artists cartell who won double its most memorable stories.
A curiosity: Despite "Donald and his Good Neighbor" which was published in November 1943 is officially considered the first appearance of Silva, a few months before (in February, to be precise) we have the story "Pilot Not Want" cartell which begins with Donald grappling with a neighbor called Jones (The original name of Silva). But in addition to appearing in just one comic (image below) that "Smith" then give rise to the character who became known.
Drawing from memory (and with the help of Inducks to remember the titles because nobody is iron) the first story Donald Silva X as I can remember having read was Weekend with the neighbor. Since then, I've seen much wipe, quacks, punches, and an endless number of ways to "How to make your neighbor suffer" and the list of good stories among them literally would not fit here but I want to mention two: The first is the contention model aircraft which is the type in which the fight of the two nearly destroys the city. And "The Mystery of Joseph Constantine" in which Scrooge tries to take advantage of the rivalry of the two neighbors for profit. Here it is worth mentioning that Carl Barks again slightly changed the look of Silva. But nothing as drastic as the previous time.
Before leaving to comment on the "special edition" Donald Silva X, it is notable that in the drawings, cartell who takes the place of Silva as the troublemaker neighbor Donald is the Breath cartell of Oz as can be seen here.
There at the beginning put the "special" in quotes because the only thing that's special edition is the name. Abril is doing a good job with the monthly special that has been releasing (yes. already cartell praised them often around here) but no longer out of them you could say the same. In the post about the issue of Uncle Scrooge against Moby Dick mimimizei I commented on the fact that story deserves a more special edition to be relegated to just an ordinary monthly.
And again the criticism is repeated. Okay I have to be fair: the edition came with a higher cartell grade of paper used in the monthly magazines. Maaaaas ... I think as a commemorative edition that deserved at least star in a special 300 page. Only 50 pages is very little.
And speaking of stories, they even remotely represent the 70 years of the two characters. Of the 4, only 2 (War at Rua dos Patos and Decoration cartell SOS) has the true spirit of good neighbors fights of yesteryear: Has starting a fight for no reason and grows. finish growing cartell until the most classic way (I will not tell, of course) the other two ("Breaking the Ice" and "Perfect Defect" are totally expendable. Unless the drawings of the two (Vicar and Francisco Rodriguez Peinado, respectively) are very fine.
Finally. Despite edition "marromêno" worth the reminder that the stories of Donald Vs Silva always provided. And now, the commemorative editions cartell that may (but in these 300 pages) 50 years of the Journal of Scrooge McDuck.
